StartupKit
Fixation has launched a variety of new software products, some as startups and some as standalone new products for established companies, and some for our own use. Regardless of industry, use-case or end-user, these products often share a common architecture and oftentimes have similar features. Do you need to access an external resource, and it’s in a zip file, and it needs to be put into a search engine? We have a toolkit for that. How about social media? We can “plug in” this functionality easily to your data so that your pages look nice when shared on virtually any platform. Is this a B2B application that requires multi-tenancy, and as admins you want to impersonate any user? We’ve done it before, so it takes us a matter of minutes to implement. The combination of features, design and the scenarios for each product we build remain unique, but there are still many similarities in the underlying software building blocks themselves that we are able to efficiently tailor your product to your needs. It’s more like ordering off a menu, with no detailed analysis required.
How It Works
It starts with a questionnaire. We go through it line-by-line with you, asking if you want a certain feature to be built, and will tell you how easy it is to implement, given the constraints of your particular product. The questionnaire is huge because it’s a list of every generally-applicable feature we have ever worked on, filtered down to the items we think would apply to your product. It will certainly include things you didn’t know you wanted. It will also include things that are critical for launching any product in your space. We bring the totality of our experience to the table through this process. StartupKit is designed to augment your existing engagement with us.
B2B
If your product is geared towards other businesses, it might have some complex user-management needs. It also might need a high level of security, or need to be plugged in to another authentication system. Do you want to export your reports into a variety of formats? Limit the access of certain entities to certain users, based on geographic location or other attributes you define? How about data warehousing, or a custom search engine? We have a standard architecture that works with all of this, plus a lot more.
B2C
If your product is web-facing, we have a number of boilerplate components that can be quickly plugged in, with SEO, social sharing, and user analytics being the most common. Simply give us a general description of your needs and priorities, and we’ll give you a list of features that are easy to implement and important to your business.
